Geek Alabama Evening Post

Think about this, you are walking down the street and you see someone who is homeless and struggling.  Do you stop and help them, or do you keep on walking?  The New York Rescue Mission set up an experiment where family members were dressed up to pretend to be homeless people while another family member walked by them, unknown the homeless people they walked by were actually their own family members.  Sadly, no one recognized their own family members who were pretending to be homeless.

The makers of the video then shows a video clip to the family members walking by showing their own family members who were pretending to be homeless on the streets, and it’s an eye opener!  It’s like the homeless have become invisible, and it should shock you!  Take it from someone who has been homeless and in their shoes, and here is what I have to say.  Don’t give up on the homeless, not all homeless people are drug addicts or have mental health problems.  Some homeless are people who have fallen on bad times or have been unlucky way too many times.  At least look at them, and maybe donate to a charity that helps homeless people.  Learn more about the New York Rescue Mission at: http://www.makethemvisible.com/
